Competition Lines
The
Competition Lines are designed for advanced dancers looking to further
expand their dance experiences. These groups perform challenging dance numbers at community events, attend an annual dance convention, perform at all Kay
Michael Lee recitals, and compete in statewide and regional dance
competitions. Competition lines are not solely based on
age, they are based on skills of the dancer. Competition lines are explained below:
Emerald Line
(9 years - 12
years)
Pearl Line
(12 years+)
Ruby Line
(12 years+)
Diamond Line
(12 years+)
Audition
Process
Company members are selected through an audition process. Auditions for
the 2015-2016 competition teams will be held at the Kay Michael Lee
Studio on Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, 2015. It is required to
be present both days of the weekend for all ages auditioning.
Cost and Expectation
The tuition for
competition lines is
a flat rate (please check back for further information) for the entire
2015-2016 dance year (September–May). Additional costs do exist for each
line. Each member is required to attend the competition practice, one
(1) ballet class, one (1) jazz class, and one (1) genre of their choice.
This is just the minimum requirement.
